Saint Basil Prayer Line
Holy Transfiguration Prayer Community
Submit your prayer intentions to our community of faithful intercessors who will lift up your needs before God in daily prayer.
You can e-mail your intentions through this web site. All intentions are private and confidential. A copy of all intentions are recorded in the official Prayer Line book.
We do not take any names off the prayer line unless it is requested. Anyone can request prayer, even if they are not a member of the community.
Today
We are a group of over 1000 people who are committed to daily prayer for the needs and intentions of the Saint Basil Prayer Line. Anyone who is willing to pray daily in a spirit of humility and trust is welcome to join. There is no need for Prayer Line members to make or receive any phone calls.
In a spirit of humility and surrender we are not aware of exactly whom we are praying for, although all these intentions are faithfully and attentively recorded in the official Prayer Line book. These intentions are known by God who knows each individual’s needs, loves every one of us, and calls each one by name. Since 1998 we have received thousands of requests for prayer. God has blessed us abundantly, and our membership continues to grow.
Background
The Saint Basil Prayer Line officially began on August 6, 1998 on the Feast of the Transfiguration, at a Divine Liturgy attended by over 150 people from various ministries attached to Saint Basil Salvatorian Center. This feast day was chosen to inaugurate the Prayer Line, as it is the patronal feast of the Basilian Salvatorian Fathers who staff the center.
“Holy Transfiguration” was chosen as the name of our group in the hope that all will experience the transfiguration light, healing, and life of Jesus Christ, our transfigured Lord and Savior.
To join the Holy Transfiguration Prayer Community, please email jmjpraynow@gmail.com.
A member of the Saint Basil Prayer Line must pray daily for the intentions of the Prayer Line and remember the Prayer Line intentions at Divine Liturgy (Holy Mass) on Sundays.
A member of the Saint Basil Prayer Line should pray (or sing) the prayer of the Prayer Line at least one to three times daily:
Glory be to You, Father, Creator of the World. Praise be to You, Lord Jesus Christ, Savior of the World. We exalt You, Holy Spirit, Sanctifier of the World. Bless, heal, and save us, and all those on the Saint Basil Prayer Line.
A member of the Saint Basil Prayer Line is encouraged to do any of the following: attend Divine Liturgy (Holy Mass) as often as possible during the week; pray a Holy Hour monthly; offer one sacrifice each week for the intentions of the Prayer Line; visit a sick, elderly, or other person in need or in prison; and make any other acts of prayer and worship, charity, or self-denial.
